Brief description of site
Cornwell Manor has formal and landscape gardens dating largely from the 18th century, enclosed by a landscape park. There is a formal water garden, created in 1939 by Clough Williams Ellis.
Brief history of site
Much of the house dates from the 16th and early-17th centuries. A small park had been laid out by the late-18th century, and was extended during the 19th century. Clough Williams-Ellis was employed between 1937 and 1939 to restore the house and village buildings and add various garden features.
