Ammerdown House has an early 20th-century Italianate formal garden (covering some 6 hectares) designed by Edwin Lutyens, set within a late 18th- to early 19th-century park (of around 174 hectares).

Brief history of site

The park was created by estate owner Thomas Joliffe from the late-18th century. The Italianate garden was laid out between 1901 and 1903 by Edwin Lutyens.
