Brief description of site

Clumber Park has a landscape park and woodland. Features include a serpentine lake and an avenue of limes. It also has eight hectares of formal and ornamental gardens and a walled garden.

Brief history of site

Clumber Park was created in about 1760 from an early 18th-century deer park (licence granted in 1709). The house was built at the same time but was demolished in 1938. The formal gardens were laid out in the 19th and early 20th centuries.
