Alnwick Castle has landscaped pleasure grounds and a landscape park. There is also an ornamental garden, which is described separately.

Brief history of site

Lancelot Brown created the landscape park for the 1st Duke of Northumberland between 1760 and 1779. Further planting was carried out in the late-19th century.
