At the time of the auction of Framfield Place in 1817, the estate consisted of 'mansion, productive gardens and closes' totalling six acres, fishpond, farmhouse and cottages and 200 acres of cultivated land and timber plantations.
The sale particulars of 1939 show the estate consisting of large lawns and shrubberies, a substantial lake together with a chain of small lakes with rock-work, a walled kitchen garden with vinery and two ranges of glasshouses. There was also a tennis court and a cricket ground which was set in wooded parkland. The total area amounted to 11 acres.
