Brief description of site
Burton Manor has an early-20th century formal garden designed by Thomas Hayton Mawson. Features within the garden include a pool, lawns, and terraces which have views over the surrounding parkland. The formal garden is set within a 19th-century landscape park. The site is now an Adult Education College.
There are regular events organised by the Friends of Burton College and the venue can be booked for conferences, weddings etc.
Brief history of site
In 1753 the manor of Burton was leased by the Reverend Richard Congreve from the Bishop of Lichfield. The house and gardens were laid out in the early-20th century. The site is now (2007) a college.
