Brief description of site

Hampton Court, a mediaeval and later house remodelled in the early 19th century, is set in the remains of a mediaeval deer park. The present gardens were laid out in the former kitchen garden during the late 20th century.

Brief history of site

A licence to crenellate and impark was granted in 1334. A large formal garden was created in the early 18th century by George London. A new garden was laid out in the late 20th century.
