Brief description of site
Blagdon Hall has associated pleasure grounds and a landscaped park. Other features include a quarry garden and arboretum.
Brief history of site
There has been a house on the site since at least 1558. The hall was re-built around 1700-1710, which was then altered in the 1760s and 1820s. The landscape park was created in around 1783. Gertrude Jekyll designed parts of the garden in 1929. Sir Edwin Landseer Lutyens carried out further work in 1938.
