The woodland garden is a dense woodland containing a wide mixture of trees from around the world, ground cover, and additional colour supplied by rich herbaceous planting. A stream runs through the woodland garden, which has a wide mixture of marginal planting. Of particular note is the 'Dawn Redwood' (Metasequoia glyptostroboides) which stands at 22.2 metres (72 feet 6 inches) and is one of the largest specimens in the British Isles.
