Brief description of site
Waldershare Park features traces of an early-18th-century formal garden, including a wilderness, surrounding a country house. The garden and house are set in a wider landscape of 400 hectares of parkland.
Brief history of site
The Waldershare estate was purchased by Sir Henry Furness in 1705. The formal grounds surrounding the house were laid out as shown in a view by J Kip published in 1719.
