Brief description of site
Victoria Park dates from the late 19th century. The park contains two war memorials, one designed by Edwin Lutyens. There are also a bowling green and various sports pitches.
Brief history of site
The park was originally part of the South Field of Leicester, which was enclosed in the 19th century. Between 1806 and 1883 the park was used as the town's racecourse.
