Brief description of site
The designed landscape of Torosay dates largely from the mid-19th century when the present house was built. The farm square, slipway and boatman's cottage and some remaining trees date from the previous century. The formal gardens date from 1897 to 1906 and have been further developed since the mid-20th century. They comprise three terraces and a statue walk. There are also informal woodland and water gardens.
