Brief description of site

Baxter Park is a mid-19th-century urban park, laid out to a design by Sir Joseph Paxton. This is the only complete example of a Paxton-designed park in Scotland.
A project to restore the park was started in 2003 with help from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Brief history of site

The park was originally laid out to a design by Sir Joseph Paxton between 1862 and 1863. In 2003, Dundee City Council obtained a grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund to completely restore the park to its original design.
