Parks and Gardens UK

The following is from the English Heritage Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest.

A medieval deer park, given late 17th/early 18th century formal gardens, and extensively 'landscaped' in the later 18th century. Much of the park has now been returned to agriculture, with the present parkland and lake occupying about 48 hectares. There are fine mature trees in the parkland and beside the lake.

DESCRIPTION

The parkland at Sherborne Castle lies to both sides of the course of the river Yeo, which flows from east-north-east to west-south-west, feeding the 18th century lake which lies between Old Sherborne Castle and Sherborne Castle. Higher, generally wooded ground lies along the southern edges of Sherborne Park.
