Brief description of site
Rode Hall has a landscape park designed by Humphry Repton in 1790 and created by John Webb in the early-19th century. The park occupies about 88 hectares. Features include a lake which is a mile long and covers 16 hectares and an icehouse. There is also a formal garden of 1861 and a walled kitchen garden within the parkland. The site has an associated Reservoirs Act.
Brief history of site
The hall was re-built in around 1700, and the size of the hall was doubled in 1752. The parkland at Rode Hall was designed by Humphry Repton in 1790. John Webb implemented his plans between 1800 and 1810. W. A. Nesfield was commissioned to improve the site after 1861.
