Rievaulx has a terrace walk and adjoining woodland. The half-mile walk offers views over the ruins of Rievaulx Abbey.
Brief history of site
The Terrace at Rievaulx is on land owned by Rievaulx Abbey until the Dissolution of the Monasteries. After passing through the hands of a number of private owners it passed to Thomas Duncombe, who laid out the Rievaulx Terrace in about 1758.
