Brief description of site

Munstead Wood has the outline plan of gardens of around four hectares, which remain from an original layout of around six hectares. Although the site is not generally open to the public, there are occasional open days. Please see:

Brief history of site

Munstead Wood was Gertrude Jekyll's own garden, laid out from 1882 onwards. The grounds are now in divided ownership, but the main garden area is still attached to Jekyll's house.
