Brief description of site
Invercauld House is approached by a long and attractive drive. The 18th- and 19th-century designed landscape comprises parkland with clumps of trees, a woodland garden, a water garden with a burn flowing through it and a productive walled garden.
Brief history of site
Invercauld has been in the hands of the Farquharson family since the early-17th century. A formal designed landscape was laid out in the 18th century and was made more informal by the mid-19th century. By 1792 the 10th Laird, James, had planted more than 14 million trees. The estate is now run as a sporting estate, also offering self-catering accommodation.
