Brief description of site

Glassenbury Park has gardens and wooded parkland of 24 hectares (59 acres) of unknown origin. The grounds surround the moated country house. The house dates from the 12th century, with many later alterations. An interesting garden feature is a stone pillar which marks the burial place of Napoleon's horse, 'Jaffa', which he rode at the battle of Waterloo (1815).
