Brief description of site

Enville has landscape pleasure grounds and a park. There is also a mid-18th century ferme ornee, probably by William Shenstone, with buildings by Sanderson Miller. The ornamental grounds were extended from 8 to 30 hectares by John Aiton, head gardener, in the mid-19th century.

Brief history of site

The manor of Enville was held from the early-16th century by the Greys. The site was much improved in the mid-18th century. In the mid-19th century, extensive flower gardens were laid out by the seventh Earl of Stamford.
