Brief description of site

Duncombe Park is a landscape park with the remnants of a medieval deer park. Half of the park is now a nature reserve.

Brief history of site

Duncombe Park was laid out as a landscape park during the 18th century. Work on the house and garden was initiated in about 1713 and completed around 1730. The remnants of the deer park, which are associated with Helmsley Castle, date back to the medieval period. Part of the park became a nature reserve in 1994.
