Site timeline

1744 to 1792: The 9th Earl of Cassilis constructed terraces and a walled garden and with his brother, the 10th Earl, laid out the policies, planting many tree strips to shelter the pasture.

1945: The 5th Marquess of Ailsa and the Kennedy family donated Culzean Castle to the National Trust for Scotland.

1969: Culzean Country Park opened.
