Richard Westmacott was a scupltor who studied under his father, Richard Westmacott the Elder, before he left for Rome in 1793. He achieved rapid success and returned to England in 1797 to set up his own studio, He became RA in 1811. Westmacott produced a number of monuments, statues, busts and stone works.
