Organisation - Pulham & Son
Description / history
Pulham and Son were one of the most well-reputed firms of landscape gardeners during the late-nineteenth and early-twentieth centuries. Founded in Broxbourne, Hertfordshire in the 1840s, the company finally went out of business in 1945. They specialised in the creation of picturesque rock gardens, constructed from both natural and artificial rock (Pulhamite). Recent re-evaluations of their work has led to a large number of sites being associated with the firm.
