The ornamental gates at the entrance to Kingswood Park from the High Street.
The gates are interesting in showing the coat of arms of Kingswood Urban District Council. The Arms were chosen in a competition in 1944 and reflect the bringing together of Hanham and Kingswood. Hanham "in the hundred of Swineshead" (Doomsday Book) is represented by a boar's head. The royal ermine border reflects the King's land and the two golden stags' heads, the royal forest of Kingswood.
