Natural England boosts traditional orchards and hedgerows
Money from Natural England will help to restore traditional orchards and hedgerows in England. The organisation is awarding £5.5 million in grants to help some of the country's most threatened biodiversity.
The National Trust will receive £267,000 for a project to create and restore traditional orchards. The People's Trust for Endangered Species will also receive a grant of £180,000 to help with its work in reconnecting Britain's fragmented hedgerows, which support a variety of wildlife, including dormice, hedgehogs, harvest mice and bird and insect species.
