Excerpt from The Food Lovers Guide in The Times- 5 September 2009, pp 3-5
Mike Thurloe, the head gardener of Audley End, talks about planting 60 different varieties of tomato plants in the garden this year. Most of the seeds have come from the Heritage Seed Library; the plants are described as “living history”. Some of the tomatoes grown will be incorporated into the menu at Audley End Café for visitors to enjoy.
