A new water feature at Boughton
The current Duke of Buccleuch has begun restoring the landscape at Boughton, Northamptonshire, using the original 18th century plan for inspiration. Kim Wilkie was given the opportunity to create 'a space that emphasizes the scale and mass of the great earthwork; to create an Orphean Hades to complement the Olympian Mount'. After two years of development, an inverted grass pyramid has just been completed by Kim Wilkie Associates which sits opposite The Great Mount. The earthwork will be named after Orpheus to celebrate its descending form and as a place for music and contemplation. The new gardens will be open to the public from 1 August and Orpheus will be used both for quiet meditation and musical events.
