What is Parks and Gardens Data Services?
Parks and Gardens Data Services Ltd. (PGDS) is a
charity formed by a partnership between The Association of Gardens Trusts
(AGT) and the University of York. Its
aim is to stimulate interest in, and understanding of, historic designed landscapes
and green spaces.
PGDS was set up in 2007 to formalise the partnership between the AGT and the University of York, known previously as the Parks and Gardens Data Partnership (PGDP).
The directors of PGDS provide representation of the AGT and the University of York and form the project board which oversees the work of Parks & Gardens UK. They are assisted with advice and guidance from a number of experts and representatives of other heritage organisations.
